David Lehr's Eagle Scout Project

 Scouts should arrive at 8:00AM on Saturday, March 9th to the intersection of Seton Hall Avenue and the north side of Foothill road in Ventura. Just west of a house on the road a large gate will be open where drivers can park inside and drop off scouts. A breakfast will be provided of bagels and donuts. We will begin by collecting the REQUIRED signed liability release forms (provided in email, at the scout meeting March 7th, and on site) and once the forms are obtained, we will begin the small trek up the hill to the sign.

The first thing scouts will be doing is clearing the area of brush, moving materials for a retaining wall that will be constructed under the sign, and setting the wall in place. After this is completed, we will take a lunch break while a tractor is brought up to backfill soil and move the concrete pieces into place. After this tractor completes its job, scouts will return up the hill to start the second phase of the project. We will next fill in the cracks if the sign with concrete, and begin to clean off the sign so that the paint will bond better. The last part is to paint to sign, after which the project will be completed. 

REQUIRED TO HAVE: Signed Liability Release form, gloves, safety glasses, proper work attire: shoes/boots, longsleeve pants & shirt ; Water, sunscreen.

HELPFUL TO BRING: Push broom to clear sign, shovel, rake.
