Order of the Arrow (OA) - Brotherhood

Fellow Arrowmen,

The following email contains important information for upcoming events and opportunities that we need help with!

• Brotherhood Event December 6th

FOR ALL BROTHERHOOD ELIGIBLE, we will be going to Camp Trask to partake in their brotherhood ceremony on December 6th at 6:30 PM at their camp, Camp Trask. 1100 N. Canyon Blvd Monrovia, CA 91016. The ceremony will end at 9:00 pm. Scouts are welcome to stay the night, and are also welcome to stay the day sunday and help the Malibu lodge with their Ordeal weekend. That will end on Sunday at 9:00 PM. All food cost will be covered by the Malibu Lodge. Cost of attendance is 25$ which includes the Brotherhood sash and beads. Look out for an email with the signup link soon.

• • To get Brotherhood you must:
    • Be active in your unit for 6 months as an Ordeal member.
    • Memorize the Obligation, the Song, the handshake, the admonition, and the sign.
    • Memorize the parts of the Ordeal.
    • Write a letter to the Lodge Secretary explaining your understanding of the Ordeal and your future plans to serve in the Lodge.
  • This is an AMAZING opportunity and should not be passed up. Everyone who is eligible should make an effort to seal their membership. If you need a refresher on any of those memorizations please email me.
• November 27th Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot!
  • This will be at 6:30 AM at the California Lutheran University. If you are available come by and help out, we'll be done by around 12.
• Elections!
  • Right after the new year, election season will begin. Each Chapter needs to form an election team to be able to go and elect new members. We really need people for this. If you are willing contact your Chapter Chief. If you do not have one or do not know their contact please email me at billybrown9111@gmail.com
• Callout at Camporee
  • The Mitz-Khan-A-Khan Chapter is forming a call-out team to preform a call out at Camporee. This team is open to all members, if any of the Lodge members would like to join please email me. The next practice will be December 15th at 6:00 PM at 6190 Telephone Road, Ventura CA. We will be preforming two call outs, one at the Council Camporee, and one at a Troop 128 Camporee, which they requested us to do as well.
• Spring Ordeal Ceremony Team
  • Even though the Spring Ordeal seems far away now, practicing for the ceremonies is essential to providing a good Ordeal, which improves retention among candidates. After the new year, we will be beginning practicing for this. If you are interested in helping please email me that you are interested.

The next LEC meeting will be December 17th at 7:30 PM at the Camarillo Scout Barn. All OA members are welcome and encouraged to attend to get involved in our Lodge!
