John Muir Wilderness Backpacking Trip
Our original plan of car camping at Courtright Reservoir and starting our adventure from there was changed due to the Basin Fire, so we quickly changed the plan and dove to Lake Thomas Edison, stayed 1 night there and started our trip on the Bear Ridge Trail hiking out to the PCT/JMT then on to the West Fork of Bear Creek and a trip to Shelden Pass for some fantastic views. Retracing our steps we stopped at a beautiful campsite at Twin Falls with our last night at Vermillion Valley Resort, which is now a Troop 128 hotspot along with section and thru hikers, it was at VVR that the scouts did a service project, capping off an excellently planned and executed backpacking trip. Well done by all!
