Mt Baden Powell - hike

Michael Marson

04/25/2026

Troop went up to Apple Tree campgrounds on Friday night.

We spent the night and on Saturday morning, we hiked to the top of Mount Baden Powell.
4 mile trail with 2,800 feet of elevation gain to 9,407'.
3 hours up, lunch at the top, then 2 hours down.

The plan was to spend one more night, but due to Rain, Sleet, and Snow, we had to make a decision, for safety concern, to call it off, and we loaded up and went home.

Forecast was for temperatures to drop into the 20's along with 2" - 4" of snow. Everyone was wet and cold.

Wet gear and cold weather are not a good mix. I think we made the right decision.

Everyone still had a great time.

The boys rocked that hike!!

Great job to everyone!
